Celebrating 20 Years of Reaching for the Stars​​

 

On May 1, 2025, GEM celebrated its 20th anniversary with BeDazzle at Har Sinai–Oheb Shalom Congregation in Baltimore. The sold-out evening brought supporters together for cocktails, a silent auction, dinner, and a special program celebrating GEM’s mission and the young women it serves.

The evening featured a conversation with Katie Couric, award-winning journalist and No. 1 New York Times bestselling author. The interview was conducted by GEM alumna Adefikayo Dipe, highlighting the voices and experiences that continue to shape GEM’s work.

BeDazzle 2025 also honored Debbi Weinberg, GEM founder and director, for her extraordinary dedication to the organization. Her leadership has helped GEM provide high school girls with the support, resources, and growth experiences they need to become confident, independent, and self-sufficient young women.

The sold-out celebration was a smashing success, made possible by the generous donors and supporters who helped GEM in their endeavour. Sponsorships, donations, and community support make it possible for GEM to continue creating opportunities that change lives.
